The Rising Stars Celebration of Black Youth Excellence is a special event hosted by the Black American Community Outreach of Sheboygan to honor the achievements and contributions of Black youth in our community. In addition to celebrating their accomplishments, this event is designed to inspire continued growth, encourage ambition, and support our students on their journey to fulfilling their highest potential.
For 2025, we are proud to host two separate events, organized by grade level, each focused on fostering future success:
Date: April 28, 2025Location: Jake’s CaféDoors open at 5:30 PMProgram from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
This event will focus on preparing students to launch from high school into their next steps—whether that’s higher education, career paths, or community leadership. Our goal is to empower them to confidently move into their futures, equipped with the skills and mindset for continued success.

This event will encourage underclassmen to make the most of their current opportunities—whether academic or extracurricular—to set themselves up for a strong future. We’ll inspire them to take initiative now, so they can continue to grow and succeed in the years ahead.
We are calling on the community to help identify students who are excelling academically, involved in their communities, or demonstrating leadership, resilience, and potential for future success. To nominate a student, please use the link below. Nomination deadline is APRIL 15.
